Family Tree
I started working on the Family tree in 2001 after receiving a document Father Don Hellmann had started and my Uncle Ron had updated.

Then in 11/11/2007 Dieter Emke, from Germany, email me the following:
Dear Mr. Hellmann,
I have your adress from world wide web. My name is Dieter Emke from Rechterfeld-Visbek/Germany.
I want to search my family from Germany. They have gone to America in 1880. All I have is a letter, what have
the brother of my great-grandfather have written to my family at 13.12.1940. The name of him is Johann Joseph
Hellmann, born 17.12.1863 in Rechterfeld-Visbek, Germany. The adress of the letter is: Box 455 Madison
Pike, Covington Kentucky. He has married 1890 in America and his wife, Anna Katharina Varnhorn, born
08.01.1870, is died 25.11.1940.
Perhaps you can help me.
Greetings Dieter Emke

After several emails we figured out Dieter's great grand father and my great grand father are brothers.
Dieter lives in our great grand fathers, fathers house in Rechterfeld, Germany.
My Uncle Ron and I visited September of 2008. Needless to say, a trip of a life time.
Come to find out, we are the first to return to our ancestors home. Which lead to the local newspaper following article
